F. Whitney Mansfield, 95 died Tuesday May 3 at Life Care Center of Leominster,
after a lengthly illness, with his loving family at his bedside.
Whitney was born in New Ipswich, NH, to Frederick L. and Ruth E. (Whitney)
Mansfield. He graduated from Fitchburg High School, he served in the U.S. Army
from 1944 to 1946, assigned to the military police unit in central Europe.
Returning to civilian life, Whitney worked for 42 years at Simonds Saw & Steel now
Simonds Cutting Tools.
Whitney was a long time member of Highland Baptist Church, Also member of
Bethel-Souhegan Lodge #24 AF & AM of New Ipswich, NH. He was a former
member of Eastern Star and a past patron of John Everett Lodge #60.
Whitney's wife of 59 years Dorothy A. (Bergeron) Mansfield died in 1999. He is
survived by his son and daughter-in-law Cary and Wanda Mansfield of Lunenburg,
his daughter and son-in-law Joyce C. and James E. Fletcher of Leominster. His
sister Barbara Eastman of New York. Four grandchildren, Robyn Prentiss and
husband Dale, Cary Mansfield and Lynn, Jonathan Fletcher and Lisa, Jeffrey Mansfield.
Nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. 
Whitney was predeceased by his brother Wallace Mansfield, his sisters Mildred
Downey, Dorothy Shepard, and Eleanor Harrington. Also  grandchildren Mark J.
Fletcher and Mary J. Mansfield.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation period from 10 to 11 A.M. on Saturday
May 7, followed by a funeral service in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St.
Fitchburg. Burial with Military honors will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
