Ruth Esther (Shanley) Wells Shaw, died Sunday December 18 after a steady decline in health at Health Care Center of Fitchburg. 

Ruth was born in Putnam, CT. October 13, 1939, daughter of Lawrence J. and Hazel Mae (Rowe) Shanley. Ruth was a former resident of South Lancaster, until moving to Fitchburg in 1979. Ruth loved Country Western music, Gospel Music especially Willie Nelson and John Denver’s Country Roads. 

Ruth will be remembered as a kind and loving woman to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Thank you to the caregivers at Fitchburg Healthcare the past few years for the great care she received while she was there. 

Ruth was predeceased by her first husband, Anthony D. Wells who died in 1986 and her second husband Chester Earl Shaw Jr. who died in 2002. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday January 6, 2023, at 11:00 in the chapel of the Winchendon Veterans Cemetery.
