Robert Blair Obituary

Gardner – Robert E. Blair of Gardner, MA. passed away on December 10, 2018, at Wachusett Manor following many months of declining health. He was born on March 13, 1940, in Rindge, NH. And was the son of deceased parents Everett and Ruth Gordon Blair. Robert had an energetic spirit and an intense interest in learning new things through experiences or reading about them. From an early age he rode motorcycles and assembled a vast knowledge of car makes and models becoming adept at repairing them. Robert spent many years working outside construction jobs with driving large machines being his favorite part. Being out in nature was important to him and from a young age he began studying wild life and enjoyed the peacefulness of the woods. While walking, hiking, and kayaking Bob would anticipate what might be ahead of him. Robert felt life shouldn’t be taken too seriously and often played little tricks on others or used humor to help some see the better side of a situation. He thought outside of the box, had a great imagination, and was very creative. He was an avid newspaper reader and could predict the outcome of events and who would win political races. Traveling was important to him being very curious about people and the world. He was predeceased by brothers Everett C. Blair Jr., and Kenneth J. Blair .He is survived by his wife Paula, his brothers Steven A. Blair Sr. and wife Debra, Richard W Blaie and wife Gail. He also survived by sisters Phyllis J. Blair, Joyce Blair and partner Roland Vallancourt, Barbara Norwood, Judith A. Blair, Jeanette M. Westover and husband John and many nieces and nephews. Besides his family, Rob enjoyed years spent with the members of the De Belle family of Jaffrey who came into his life during high school.

Honoring his wish, Robert chose not to have a wake and funeral following his cremation.
