Ritva H. Jarvi, 83

Ritva Helena Jarvi, 83, of Sterling and Fitchburg passed away Friday June
7, 2013 at Health Alliance Leominster hospital after a brief illness. She was
born February 2, 1930, in Turku, Finland, the daughter of Emil and Rauha
(Jokinen) Jarvi and immigrated to the United States in 1951. She lived in
Fitchburg for over 40 years and then moved to Nashoba Park Assisted
Living in Ayer. She recently resided at Sterling Village in Sterling.

Ritva was proud of her employment at the former Asher Pant Company. in
2002 she became a U.S. Citizen after several years of preparation for the
Citizenship examination. She was one of the many honored new citizens to
be sworn in at Faneuil Hall with dignitaries such as Senator Ted Kennedy
welcoming them as new Americans.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Helena and Armand Poirier
of Leominster and her grandson and his wife, Eric and Danielle Poirier of
Richmond, Texas.

Funeral services will be private and arrangements will be coordinated by
Bosk Funeral Home in Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to the Westwinds Clubhouse, 545 Westminster St. Fitchburg, Ma. 01420
