Richard M. Benson lll, 53, died at home Saturday July 14, after an illness. Richard was born in Fitchburg March 13, 1965, son  Richard M. Benson Jr. and Maxine (Hellman) Benson. He grew up in Fitchburg and attended local schools. He had been employed as a landscaper and was a volunteer firefighter.
Beside his mother, Richard leaves his fiancee Debbie M. Langlais, his sons and daughters, Richard M. Benson, Michael Benson, Jesse Benson, Brianna Benson, James Blake, Gage Benson and Monica Lemay. He also leaves his brothers and sisters, Michael S. Benson, Tammy deVarney, Donnalee Scott, Paula Germain, Michelle Freeman, Faithann Soucier, Amy Germain and Kimberly Desrosiers. Three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday July 21 at 1:00 P.M. in St. Joseph Church 49 Woodland St. Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 7 to 9 P,M. in the funeral
