Kenneth A. Lahtinen, 82
Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather
Kenneth Alton Lahtinen, 82, of Ashburnham, died Saturday March 15, at
the Golden Living Center in Fitchburg after an illness with his loving family
at his bedside.
Ken leaves his sons and daughters-in-law Randall "Randy" U. Lahtinen and
Dawna of Ashburnham and Jeffrey H "Jeff " Lahtinen and Lara of Guam.
Hid daughter Kendra L. Lahtinen of Greenville, N.H. Seven Grandchildren
and three great grandchildren. Ken was predeceased by his father Uuno
Lahtinen, his mother Helen (Rasie) Lahtinen, his sister Unice Gowdy and
one granddaughter Nicole Aho.
Ken was born in Fitchburg, September 16, 1931. He graduated from Ashby
High School. Ken enlisted in the Navy in 1951 and served aboard the USS
Bennington. He lived in Ashby, Ashburnhan, Putnam, Ct. and then moved
back to Ashburnham where he raised his children on Stodge Meadow
pond. He spent the summers on the lake and winters on Mt. Watatic skiing
with his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and
especially loved his beagles. Ken was a forty five year member of Local #4
Steam and Pipefitters Union, and the Asbhy American Legion.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation period on Thursday evening
from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg. A
prayer service will be at 7:30 P.M. followed by Military Honors.
