Jeffrey Edward Rickheit
Jeffrey Rickheit, 49, passed away February 18, 2020
Jeffrey was predeceased by his mother, Paula, and leaves behind his son Shawn Rickheit, of Lunenburg, his father Peter and his wife Meredith and her daughters, Sheryl Souza and Joan Welch. His brother John and his fiancé Laura. Jeffrey also leaves behind his ex-wife and long-term companion, Stacey Rickheit and her children: Manny, Delilah, Daisy, Willow, and his beloved dog Digger.
Jeffrey was born to Paula and Peter Rickheit on December 3, 1970 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Growing up he enjoyed long-lazy summers camping with family at Lake Dennison and annual camping expeditions to Florida for February vacation with his dad, his brother, John, his Uncle Bill Kinirey, and cousins. Jeffrey had a beautiful smile and a twinkle in his eye that endeared him to all.
Jeffrey was an avid sports fan, playing football, baseball and hockey at his alma mater, St. Bernard’s High School. After high school he joined the Army serving as a Military Police Officer in Operation Desert Storm and the Panama Invasion where he was awarded two Bronze Service Stars. The happiest day of his life was the day his son Shawn was born.
Later in life Jeffrey enjoyed playing golf, rooting for Boston sports, the Bruin’s, Red Sox and Patriots, walking with Digger, fishing, and riding his bike. He maintained a strong and loving relationship with his former wife, Stacey. The two were always together, supporting each other for over twenty years. Jeffrey had many life-long friends who will miss him dearly; his friends were family, and his family was everything to him.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 1414 Main St. Leominster, Mass, 01453. Jeffrey’s family would like to encourage anyone who wishes to share a happy memory of Jeffrey to do so at the funeral mass.
