Jacob Vandebrock, 94 of Cary, N.C., formerly of Fitchburg passed away at
home Tuesday August 19, with his family at his bedside.
Jacob leaves his wife of 68 years Mae L. (Nutting) of Cary, his son Bruce J.
Vandebrock of Hyannis, daughter and son-in-law Kim L. Rines and John of
Cary, N.C. Also survived by five grandchildren, Amy Mueller of Centerville,
Andrea Bohmfalk of W. Yarmouth, Allison Phillips of Willow Springs, N.C.
Erica Duschame of Smithfield, N.C. and Timothy Rines of Charleston S.C.
and nine greatgrandchildren , Carl, Morgan, Sean, Ethan, Olivia, Nora,
Noah, Emma and Anna.
Jacob was born in Manchester, N.H. January 3, 1920, son of Nicholas and
Marie (Klooster). He was educated in Goffstown, N.H. and Fitchburg
schools and was a graduate of Worcester Trade school. He worked for
General Electric Co. and Simonds Saw & Steel in Fitchburg before retiring
as manager of the Searstown Mall. He moved to North Carolina in 2004.
Jacob was a World War ll veteran serving as an Army airplane engine
mechanic. He was a 65 year member of Aurora Lodge AF & AM, Order of
Eastern Star #27 and Christ Episcopal Church in Fitchburg. He was an avid
gardener, woodworker and reader.
A visitation period will be held on Tuesday, August 26, from 12:30 P.M to
1:30 P.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. with a Masonic service
at 1:00 P.M. Graveside services with military honors will follow at 2:00 P.M.
in Forest Hill Cemetery. Contributions in his honor may be made to Christ
