Howard Myron Simpson, 86, passed away peacefully at home Thursday
June 27 after an illness with his loving family at his bedside.
Howard leaves his wife of 59 years, Barbara H. (Hartwell) Simpson, their
wedding anniverasry was June 26. He also leaves three daughters, Beverly
J. Simpson of Lehigh Acres, FL., Nancy E. Niemi and husband Charles of
Grafton, N.H. and Audrey L. Fors and husband David of Lunenburg. His
brother and sister-in-law Forest and Joan Simpson of Lebanon, N.H. Also
seven grandchildren, Ben, Spencer, Mariah and Hannah Niemi; Tyler, D.J.
and Nicole Fors. His brother George and sisters Alice, Jenny and Ellen
predeceased him.
Howard was born in Springfield, VT. August 24, 1926, the son of George
and Lena (Tenney) Simpson. He graduated from Stevens High School class
of 1946 in Claremont, N.H. He moved to Lunenburg in 1963.
Howard was a systems analyst and had been employed at Wyman Gordon
in Worcester, the former Fitchburg Paper Co. and lastly at Boston
University. He loved Golf, the Boston Red Sox and vacationing winters in
Florida and summering at the lake house in N.H.
Howard was a U.S.Army veteran of the Korea era and served with the
334th Engineer Truck Co. in Germany.
Relatives and friends are invited to a calling hour on Wednesday July 3,
from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. followed by a service at 12:00 P.M. in the
Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg. Burial will follow in North
Cemetery, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
