Helvi Miriam (Tastula) Misslin, 96, of Fitchburg, Lake Worth, FL and Huntville, AL, died in Huntsville where she had been living with her daughter.
Helvi was born in Fitchburg December 23, 1916, the daughter of John S. and Sarafiina A. Tastula. She graduated from Fitchburg High School. She was a member of the Finnish Center at Saima Park, the Lake Worth Neighborhood Association, the South Palmway and South Lakeside Association. For many years she spent summers in Fitchburg and winters in Lake Worth. She attended St. Paul and Emanuel Lutheran Church.
Helvi leaves daughters Patricia J. Misslin of New York City, Maureen L. Erickson and her husband Lawrence of Huntsville, AL, and her son and daughter-in-law Michael D. and Jane Misslin of Maynard, MA. She also leaves her grandchildren David Erickson and Martha Winstead of Austin, TX, Michael D. Misslin Jr. of New York City, Christopher Erickson of Huntsville, AL, and one great granddaughter Breanna Erickson of Huntsville, AL.
Helvi's husband Harold J. Misslin died March 22, 1986. She was also predeceased by brothers Waino T., Tauno W., Olavi A., and Allan R. Tastula, and her sisters Martha Kivimaki and Elna Smart.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at 9:30 A.M., followed by a service at 11:00 A.M. Friday January 11 in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St.
