Loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt; 98

Fitchburg - Helen M. (LaRoche) Gardner, 98, passed away
peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Life Care
Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton.
Helen was born in Fitchburg on December 6, 1916, a daughter of
the late Alfred and Emma (Germeinhardt) LaRoche. She
graduated from Fitchburg High School, and worked for
Fitchburg Yarn Company for 30 years. Helen later worked for the
City of Fitchburg in the many school cafeteria's, including
Reingold School where she retired. Helen resided at the Life
Care Center in Littleton for the past 5 years where she will
always be remembered for her sharp mind and wonderful sense
of humor.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1961; a son Fred
Gardner; a grandson Cameron Gardner; long time companion
Ralph Coderre; brothers Raymond, Francis, and Bernard
LaRoche; sisters Theresa Riggs, Catherine Rahikka, Barbara
Purdy, Beatrice Ricci, and Irene LaCroix.
She is survived by son John Gardner; her son Fred's wife Diana
Gardner; a granddaughter Angela Melanson, and 2 great
grandchildren, Colby and Brody all of Leominster. Many nieces
and nephews including Maryann MacPherson of Fitchburg who
was her primary caregiver and contact prior to her passing.
The service for Helen will be held in the Pieta Chapel on Friday,
April 24, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Chaplin Carole Butler officiating.
