Hazel C. Oikelmus
Loving Mother, Grandmother,
Nursing Assistant

Hazel C. (Salo) Oikelmus, 93, died peacefully at home Tuesday November
27, with hel loving family at her bedside.
Hazel was born in Philadelphia, Pa. October 11, 1919, the daughter of the
late John and Senja (Moilanen) Salo and has lived in Fitchburg most of her
lifel She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1937, the first graduating
class in the new high school.

Hazel was a cub scout den mother, a former member of Eastern Star and a
former member of First Parish Church. She loved knitting and crocheting,
board games and card games. She also loved reading, trips to Foxwoods,
Mohegan Sun and long walks. She travelled extensively in the United
States and abroad including a trip to Finland.

Hazel leaves her sons James A. and Steven J. Oikelmus both of Fitchburg;
her daughters Sharon E. Oikelmus of Bedford, N.H. Irene A. and Janice A.
Oikelmus both of Fitchburg. She also leaves her grandson Adam J.
Bookhamer and grandaughter Anna S. Turcotte.
Hazel's husband of fifteen years Arthur B. Oikelmus died March 18, 1965
and her brothers Fred Salo Sr. and Francis Salo and her sister Selma Edell
also predeceased her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation time on Saturday
December 1 from 1 to 2:30 P.M. with a service to follow at 2:30 P.M. in the
Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Burial will take place at a later date.
