Loving wife, Mother, Grandmother

Frances Mary (Hatch) Armington, 87, died Saturday September 14 at the
Golden Living Center. She was born in Boston August 25, 1926, daughter
of Clarence W. and Margaret M. (Wagstaff) Hatch. She is survived by her
husband of 61 years Allan L. Armington and by her children and
grandchildren.

Frances taught elementary school in Massachusetts and Oregon before
moving to Maine, where she taught in Belfast for many years. In Belfast she
was on the school board and the board of the public library, and was once
named citizen of the year. She was also a professional craftsman, working
primarily in silver and was chair of the United Maine Craftsmen.

Frances and her husband Allan moved to Fitchburg in 1933, where she
taught English as Second Language courses and was active in many
community groups and the Unitarian Universalist Church.

A Memorial service for Frances will be held on Saturday  October 19, at
3:30 P.M. in the Unitarian Universalist First Church  West St. Leominster.
