Ephraim Rojas Sr., 55, died unexpectedly Saturday at Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital in Gardner.
Ephraim leaves his wife of 18 years Ramona Santiago Rojas, his sons Ephraim Rojas Jr., Bryant Rojas and Kevin Rojas; his daughter, Maraim Rojas; his step-son, Juan O. Gerena and his step-daughters, Gloribel Ramos and Maritza Gerena; also his 2 sisters, Elizabeth Rojas and Esther Rojas; along with his 11 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great grandchild.
Ephraim was born in the Bronx, NY son of Frank Rojas and Juanita Colon Rojas. He graduated from the University of Interamericana of Puerto Rico in which he obtained his bachelor’s degree. Then he furthered on his education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering. He designed circuit boards and built computers at his place of employment.
Ephraim enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking with his grand kids. He was very loving and enjoyed cracking a joke on a daily basis. He left the legacy of passing down all of his knowledge in music, mechanics, construction and handy-man skills to his sons and grand children. We called him “MacGyver” because he was an excellent problem solver. There was not anything that Ephraim can do or solve. He will be greatly missed!
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation and services on Friday, September 3, from 6:00PM to 9:00PM in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg. A closing ceremony will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Woodside cemetery in Westminster
