Obituary

Ella Kathryn Hubbard passed away peacefully on 6.14.22

She was born in Ohio 1.7.31.  She lived most of her life in Fitchburg MA.  Although she lived and traveled to many places over her 90 years.  In her younger years she worked for Bell Inc. in Ohio until she met her husband, Philip.  He served in the US Army for 21 years and together they traveled to many bases in the US and Austria.

She was a housewife, mother, and later while her children were growing, she became a dedicated worker. She started part-time in nursing homes in Fitchburg.  Then working for Berkey Photo (later Qualex) for over 25 years before her retirement.  She was the billing supervisor and very proud of her position in the company.  She was part owner of Irish Treasures store where her she sold dried flower arrangements.  She was overly generous to everyone who came to her door.  Hosting gatherings of family, friends, and in some cases perfect strangers.  She loved to crochet, play cards and board games and her doll collection.  She loved to travel as well.  She was a member of the DAV Woman’s Auxiliary and held important posts in the organization.  She went by “Ma” and “Gram” to her family and even some non-family as well.  She will be missed, but she will also be thought of often in many people’s hearts.

She is survived by her remaining children and their spouses.  Ethel “Dusty” Dickinson and Mark, Joseph Hubbard and Jean, James Hubbard and Lesley, Richard Hubbard and Linda.  Her remaining siblings, a brother Robert Aranyos, and three sisters Sister Mary Urban SRS, Mildred Blom, and Margret Carpenter all of Ohio. 

She also leaves behind several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great, great grandson.  In addition, she leaves many nieces and nephews and extended family in the Cincinnati Ohio area.

She is pre-deceased by her husband of 53 years, Philip Hubbard who passed in 2005.  As well as her daughter Mary Roland in 2017.  Her parents Joseph and Helen Aranyos.  As well as two brothers Andrew and Richard Aranyos. 

The Hubbard and Roland families would like to thank the Keystone/Leominster Rehab & Nursing staff for her care over the last few years.  She prayed for and with the staff often.  We can’t thank them enough.

There will be a private family viewing on 6.21.22 followed by a funeral service at 1pm in the chapel of the Veterans Memorial Cemetery; 111 Glenallen Street Winchendon MA where she will be laid to rest.
