Edith J. (Bowen) Wyman, 88, of Gardner, formerly of Fitchburg and
Leominster died at home Friday January 4, with her loving family at her
side.
Edith was born in Marlborough December 19, 1924, the daughter of Wesley
and Josephine M. (Lepper) Bowen. She attended Leominster High school
and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School in 1942. Edith was a
hairdresser and worked at the Harper Method Beauty Shop. She was a
member of the former Good Shepard Church and a former lay reader. She
is now a member of the Redemption Rock Church in Westminster. She was
a member of the Women Aglow and was known by all who knew her as the
Purple Lady.
Edith is survived by her husband of 61 years, John R. Wyman, her
daughters and sons-in-law Joanne (Gege) LeBlanc of Fitchburg, Donna
(Michael) Wyman Boivin, of Fitchburg, Jackie (Stephen) Walsh of
Ashburnham and Shelley Soini of Fitchburg. Seventeen Grandchildren, ten
Great grandchildren. Edith was predeceased by her brother Charles
Bowen, her sister Harriett Williams and one grandchild Ryan.
A celebration of Edith's life will be held on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at
5:00 P.M. at the Redemption Rock Church 3 Hager Park Westminster, Ma.
