Donald I. Lunetta, 68, died Tuesday December 18, at UMASS Memorial
Hospital in Worcester after a lengthly illness with his family at his bedside.
Donald was born at the Former Fort Devens Hospital in Ayer, April 9, 1944
the son of Salvatore and Gertrude (Phelps) Lunetta.He grew up in
Fitchburg and had lived in Ashburnham since 1977.
Don was employed in the medical field working primarily as a caregiver to
the handicapped. He retired five years ago due to illness. Don enjoyed
metal detecting and gardening. He enjoyed very close family relationships,
especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Don leaves his wife of forty four years, Christine (Laakso) Lunetta, his
daughters Veronica D. Rodaway of Colorado, Tami L. Maki and Tina L.
D'Amico both of Ashburnham. He also leaves his brothers and sisters-in-
law John "Jack" and Lucille Lunetta and David and Rosie Designas both of
Fitchburg. His grandchildren, Cierra Trujillo, Rebecca D'Amico, Angelina
Rodaway and Nicolette D'Amico and three great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation and celebration of
life on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 P.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home 85
Blossom St. Fitchburg. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of
flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
