Constance Eleftherio, 86
Constance "Connie" Eleftherio, 86, of Fitchburg, died Thursday morning,
September 26, at the Golden Living Center
Connie was born In Fitchburg, January 1, 1927, the daughter of Nicholas
and Cleopatra (Labovitis) Eleftherio and was a life long resident. She
graduated from Fitchburg High school in 1944 and attended Fitchburg
State University and the International Business School of Boston. Connie
was employed at General Electric Co. for 40 years, Special Navy
Coordinator in Engineering.
Connie was a very active member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox
Church, the Ladies Hope Society and the Philopthicos Society. She was
also the church choir director. In 2012, Connie received the Ministry Award
from the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Boston in honor of her service to
the church. Of all her accomplishments in life, her church work and her
love of God were the most meaningful to her. She felt truly blessed to have
such a great opportunity to bring joy and love to others. She loved sports,
especially golfing and skiing.
Connie leaves her sister Bessie Eleftherio of Fitchburg, her brother Dr.
Arthur Eleftherio of Falls Church, VA. She also leaves her nieces Melissa
Yahia and her husband Larry of Harvard and Pamela Wise and her husband
Chris of Chatham. Also her nephew Peter Eleftherio and his wife Melanie of
R.I. Three grand nieces and three grand nephews. She was predeceased
by her brother Dr. John Eleftherio in 2000.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation time at the Holy
Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 1319 Main St. on Monday from 9 to 11 A.M.
followed by a funeral service at 11:00A.M. in the church. Burial will follow
in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu if flowers, contributions
may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 1319 Main St.
