Britta S. Haley, 68

Loving wife and mother

Britta S. (Tervo) Haley, 68, died Monday November 24, at the Highlands
Long Term Care Center after an extended illness with her loving family at
her bedside.

Britta was born in Halsua, Finland, daughter of Olavi and Helvi (Liedes)
Tervo and  came with her family to the United States and Fitchburg in 1965.
She graduated from high school in Finland. Britta was a certified nurse's
aide and was employed as a home health aide with Diversified Home Health
Care until her retirement several years ago.

Britta leaves her husband of  forty four years, John T. Haley of Fitchburg,
her son Thomas J. Haley and daughter Kristen M. Haley both of Fitchburg.
She also leaves her brothers and sisters-in-law Seppo O. and Susan Tervo
of Kirkland, WA., Mikko A. and Hanah Tervo of Finland, Ollie P. and Lynn
Tervo of Ashby., and Esa Tervo of Fitchburg. Also her sister and brother-in-
law Soila and Armand Pitre of Ashby.

Britta also leaves behind many loving cousins, and many nieces and
nephews who loved their Auntie Britta very much. Lastly, she leaves
behind four wonderful boys who are like her own grandchildren. Riley,
Shea, Austin and Pierce  who  were special lights of her life.

Britta enjoyed baking (especially pulla), traveling, learning about new
things and being with her family. She was a very talented sewer. She loved
making hand made gifts for her family, did sewing repairs for family,
friends and even strangers. By her example, she taught others kindness
and patience. She had a very strong work ethic and was proud of her
Finnish heritage.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Highlands fifth floor, along
with the physical therapy staff, especially John, and the staff of Mass Heart
and Rhythm, especially Karen Rose, Denise and Dave for the special care
and attention they gave to Britta.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation from 5 to 8 P.M. on Friday
November 28 in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. A funeral service
will be held on Saturday morning at 10 A.M. in the funeral home.
