Avidis “Moe” Motian, 88

Avidis “Moe” Motian age 88, died peacefully while at Leominster Health Alliance Hospital on Wednesday August 14th, 2013.He was the son of Misak Motian and Arakse Madanian.  He was also the step son of Harry Damboorajian. Avidis had a sister Srpoohe (Damboorajian) Yaghmoorian of Andover and brother Zeroon“Zet” Damboorajian of Leominster both of which predeceased him.
He had successfully battled heart related health issues for the last 25 years.   His life was a daily inspiration to his friends and family. He had a strong will to live and strive on another day despite those setbacks.
Avidis was born and raised in Fitchburg, MA.  He attended Fitchburg public schools and graduated in 1943.  After high school, Avidis worked at a gas station in Fitchburg and delivered home heating oil. He took over his stepfather’s shoe repair business “Harry’s Shoe Repair” on Lunenburg St in Fitchburg in the mid 1960’s. He retired from that in 1998.
Avidis loved his family, friends and neighbors and often had people over to watch the Red Sox and Patriots. Avidis attended Christ Church inFitchburg, MA.
In addition to his late brother and sister, Avidis leaves behind four nephews, Robert (Bob), David, and Martin Yaghmoorian of Andover, MA and Marc Damboorajian.
Funeral services will be   Saturday August 17, at 10:00 A.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St.. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. A visitation period will be from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. boskfuneralhome.com
