Arthur D Devine

FITCHBURG, 

Arthur D. Devine, 73, passed away peacefully Monday August 10th at Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster after a long illness. 

Arthur “Butch” was born in Norwich, CT. On October 31, 1946, the son of Hazel (Crowley) Valcourt. He is survived by his daughter Sharon Devine, his brother and sister-in-law Edward and Carole Ferguson as well as his sister Sandra Chartrand. He leaves behind 4 grandsons Gordon, Michael, Rene and Brandon. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Butch also had a good friend Caryn Cote who was very helpful to him in the last few years.  Butch helped out at  Cote’s Variety store in Fitchburg for many years when  he was younger. He was a “jack” of all trades and was a “handyman” by trade. He was also an inserter at the Fitchburg Sentinel and Enterprise for 15 years Butch was a life long resident of Fitchburg. 

Butch was very close to his grandson Brandon and wanted him to be happy with whatever path he chose in life. 

A visitation period will be from 10 to 11 A.M. on Tuesday August 25 followed by a graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery.
