Arlene C. (Plourde) Dupuis, 79, of Leominster, formerly of Fitchburg died peacefully in her home on Saturday August 22, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Joseph R. Dupuis who died in 2006.

She was born January 15, 1936, a daughter of the late John W. and Caroline (Cyr) Plourde. She was employed by the former Comfort Slipper of Fitchburg for many years, and later employed by the Sterilite Corp. in Townsend.

Arlene spent most of her time enjoying life with her family. She particularly enjoyed pulling practical jokes on her daughters. She loved playing cards and vacationing at Cape Cod. Arlene was a member of the former Church of the Good Shepherd in West Fitchburg, where she was actively involved in Marriage Encounter, Cursillo, Bible Study, and took up the position of cook and grandmother to many Sr. High Youth on Happening Retreat weekends.

Arlene leaves a brother, Leon Plourde and his wife Nancy of Granby, CT.  Six daughters, Pastor Donna M. Dunbar of Leominster, Diana St.Laurent and her husband Kenneth of Lunenburg, Darlene Dunn and her husband Robert of Fitchburg, Denise Jacob of Leominster, Darnelle Dupuis of Leominster, Dina Dufresne and her husband Joseph of Leominster. Nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited New Life Church 834 Main St., Leominster for a visitation time from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.  on Friday August 28.  Followed by a funeral service at 3:00 P.M. A commital service will follow at the Pieta Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery 486 Clarendon St. Fitchburg.
