Wayne R. Travis, 72

Wayne Russell Travis, 72, died Monday January 29, at home after an illness. Wayne was born in Boston August 16, 1946 son of Russell an Charlotte (Cairns) Travis and lived in Lunenburg most of his life.He graduated from Lunenburg high school, class of 1964. He was a member of Lunenburg High Band and the Explorer Scouts.Wayne was a member of the United States Army Reserve, serving from 1966 to 1972.
Until his illness, he was employed as a truck driver for Aggregate Industries, formerly  Middlesex Paving. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and an experienced driver for a number of local firms.including Fratecelli Oil of Leominster and Fairlane Mobil Homes of Lunenburg. He was also skilled as a bricklayer and worked as a journeyman mason. Wayne was an avid car collector and long time member of the Dracut Road Runners car club.
Wayne is predeceased  by his fiance, Ruth Steven.  He is survived by  his godchild Baily Acardi. Also his former wife Susan (Kelishek) Connors of Rindge, N.H, their son Justin Raymond of Rindge and their daughter Tonya Jean of Pennsylvania. Also his close friend Boston Bonnie of Gardner.
Funeral services for Wayne will be held on Monday, February 5, at 11:00 A.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St.Fitchburg with a visitation period from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
