John A. Daigle, 97, life long resident of Fitchburg, died Saturday February 2
at Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after an illness.
John was born on September 23, 1915, the son of the late Amedee and
Eliina (Maki) Daigle. He attended Fitchburg High School and was employed over 35
years at the former General Electric Co. in Fitchburg. John was a U.S.Army veteran of World War ll. John was an outdoorsmanwho passed his love of nature onto his daughters and grandchildren. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, candlepin bowling and following the Red Sox. He also enjoyed the serenity of the fields and pond on the farm in which he lived .
John leaves his wife of over 73 years, Elvie (Wiita) Daigle, his daughters
and sons-in-law, Donna J. Forgues and Leon Thomas of Fitchburg,
Sandra E. Tisdale and Robert of Rindge, N.H. and Jeanne P. Gastonguay
and Edward of Fitchburg. He will also be missed by eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
John was predeceased by his sister, Pearl Franciosi.
Funeral services with military honors will be held onTuesday February 12, at 11:00 A.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. A visitation time will be held from 10 to 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
