Janice L. (Nichols) Smith, 70, died Monday at UMASS Medical Center after an illness. Janice was born in Danville, IL. daughter of the late Alvin and Wilma (Holloway) Nichols. She grew up in Danville and moved to Fitchburg 35 years ago.
Janice leaves her companion of 25 years Alberto Maldonado, her sons Daniel Makenson and Stephen Smith. Her daughters, Dawn Preston, Amber Sempsrott, Georgia Vermette, Wilma Sargent, and Spring Myers, Janice also leaves her brother Michael Nichols and her sister Debbie Nichols. Along with Twenty two grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Janice was a homemaker who enjoyed puzzles, painting, owls, shopping, music & the outdoors. Janice was predeceased by her son Jimmy Sempsprott and her brother Terry Nichols.

A visitation period will be on Friday September 28 from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Funeral services and burial will be private.boskfuneralhome.com
