Frances M. (Dermody) Barnes, 89, a long time resident of Ashby, died peacefully Friday, June 30,at home after an illness, with her loving family at her bedside.. Frances was born in Boston March 8, 1928, daughter of Harry J. and Lucy F. (Allan) Dermody. She graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School  in 1945. She had been employed at the John Hancock Insurance Company and then for the Foxboro Manufacturing Automation Company for 20 years. She retired in 1986.Frances was a member of Christ Church and the Vestry and the Alter Guild.

Frances leaves her sons and daughters-in-law  Burce A. and Katherine Barnes and Keith M. and Kerry Richards of Fitchburg. Her daughter and son-in-law Susan J. and Norman Laskey of Holbrook,Also her brothers Allan C. Dermody of Portland, ME. and Harry J. Dermody of Sharon, N.H. Her sister Jane W. Cotton of So. Portland, ME. Also her grandchildren, Keith and Christopher Barnes, Jennifer Foley and Stephanie Delios. Three great grandchildren.

Frances' husband of 61 years Donald G. Barnes died December 26, 2011. They were married on Janusry 17, 1950 on the Bride and Groom T.V. show in Los Angeles, CA.
A calling hour for Frances will be held on Wednesday July 5, in the Bennett Room of Christ Church 569 Main St. followed by a Funeral Service in the Church at 11:00 A.M. Following cremation, burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester, N.H. Contributions in her name may be made to Christ Church Memorial Fund, 569 Main St. Fitchburg, Ma. 01420.Bosk funeral Home 85 Blossom St. is assisting the family.
