Elvie M. (Wiita) Daigle, 101, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, a lifelong resident of Fitchburg, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after an illness.
Elvie was born on January 17, 1916, the daughter of the late Francis O. and Mathilda Catarina (Konstenius) Wiita. She attended Fitchburg High School and graduated in 1934.  Elvie loved decorating her home, sewing, gardening, and cooking. She found joy surrounded by nature, her hay fields, pond and mountain view. 
Elvie was predeceased by her beloved husband John (married 73 years). She leaves her daughters, Donna J. Forgues of Fitchburg, Sandra E. Tisdale of Rindge, NH and Jean P. Gastonguay of Fitchburg. She will be missed by her eight Grandchildren, numerous Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her beloved kitty Katie. 
Elvie was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters: Elma, Nellie (a twin), Ahti, Arvo, Lea, Lydia, Arlie, Eino, and Leo. 
Many thanks to Elvie's doctors and caregivers at Baldwinville Skilled Nursing Home, Heywood Hospital, Trinity Healthcare, Health Alliance Leominster Hospital, and her neighbors near the Sheldon Road farm.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation period from 10 A.M. to 11A.M. followed by a service at 11:0 A.M.  on Friday July 7  in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St.followed by burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
