Donald R. Wiitala, 71

Donald Reuben "Butch"  Wiitala, 71, died Tuesday at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, N.H. after a brief illness.
Donald was born in Fitchburg August 3, 1946, son of the late Donald R. and Vera (Haanpaa) Wiitala.  He lived in the Fitchburg and moved to New Ipswich in 1991. He had been employed in the shipping and receiving department of the former Grant Plastics until it's closing.  Donald enjoyed fishing and Patriots Football.
Beside his mother, Vera, he leaves his wife of 51 years Sandra "Sandy" (LaPorte) Wiitala of New Ipswich, his daughter Shawna Wiitala, his sons Randy A. and Kevin M. Wiitala all of Fitchburg. Donald also leaves his brother David Wiitala of Lunenburg and his sisters Sandra "Sandy" Testa of Fitchburg and Judith Powell and Kathy Lally both of Leominster Eight grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation period from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday October 5, in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg. Burial will be at a later date.
