Alvin E. Ward Jr. 75
Alvin Edwin Ward Jr. 75, died peacefully Friday December 29, at Fitchburg Healthcare, 1199 John Fitch Highway, after a long illness, with his family at his bedside. Alvin was born in Fitchburg July 28, 1942, son of Alvin E. Sr. and Minnie B. (Woollacott) Ward. Alvin was employed as a diesel mechanic at Gokey and Quinn Bus Company for many years before becoming a custodian at the John R. Briggs Elementary School in Ashburnham for 17 years. He retired in 2006.
Alvin was predeceased by his wife of 37 years Sandra (Terho) Ward in 2004. He leaves his son and daughter-in-law Ronald E. and Cindy Ward, of Leicester, his Daughter and son-in-law Dannielle E. and James Palmer Sr of Ashby, his sister and brother-in-law Diane E. and Charles Snyder of Fisher, West Virginia. Six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Alvin was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and the Fitchburg Rod & Gun Club. He loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing, and watching the Patriots and Red Sox. At his request there will be no services.
