Hans Frick, 97, a long time resident of Fitchburg, was welcomed home by his
heavenly father on September 7, 2016. He was met by his wife Leta (Byrd) and his
two daughters Hilde and Linda.
Hans sons William and Roland and his wife Deborah, his daughter Cynthia, his
sister Lydia Schmidt in Hagold, Germany, his grandchildren, great grandchildren,
and family and family and friends here and abroad all bid him adieu.
Born in 1919 in Nagold, Germany, son of Andreas and Lydia (Schuon) Frick, Hans
was formally trained in the art and craft of baking. He worked in many local
bakeries including Brokelman's The Cloverhill and the COOP in downtown
Fitchburg.
Hans served in the U.S.Navy during World War ll as a master baker in Jacksonville,
Florida where he supervised German prisoners in the POW camp bakery . Later in
life, he worked for several years in Crocker Burbank and Weyerhaueser #8 Mill.
He is remembered by all for not only his unique personslity but as well for his
unique cakes, cookie, and breads.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation time on Monday morning Sept. 12,
at 10 A.M. followed by a procession to Forest Hill Cemetery for burial with
Military Honors at 11:00A.M. Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. is assisting the
family.
