Susan B. “Sue” Lindberg 9/28/1963-8/1/2016 Lunenburg – Susan B. “Sue” Lindberg, 52, passed away peacefully at home on August 1, 2016 after a long battle with brain cancer. Sue was born in Leominster on September 28, 1963, beloved daughter of the late Charles V. and Carol A. (Carter) Lindberg. She was a 1981 graduate of Lunenburg High School and attended Springfield College, MWCC and graduated from Fitchburg State College in 1987 with a B.S. in Mathematics. She worked for Rockport Shoes for over 15 years before changing career paths to become a Medical Billing Specialist for UMMHC where she worked for the past 10 years. Sue leaves her mother, Carol A. (Carter) Lindberg of Lunenburg, two brothers, Mark Lindberg and his wife Linda of Illinois, Scott Lindberg and his wife Christine of Chelmsford and a sister, Kristen A. Lindberg of Amherst, four fiercely loved nephews, Peter, Jack, Carter and Nicholas Lindberg as well as two aunts, Gail Syrjala and her husband Russ of Florida, Ruth Wierenga of Lynn, an uncle, Wayne Carter of Athol, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her Father, Charles V. Lindberg and a brother, Curtis W. Lindberg. She loved sports of almost any kind but her true love was softball. She played in high school, college and later on a Women's Softball League where she made many lifelong friends. Her senior year at LHS she received the T&G Female Athlete Achievement Award. Sue was an active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Fitchburg and participated every year with the church's team “On Angels’ Wings” in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Gardner. She sang in Emanuel's Choir and was always found helping out at church fundraisers. She had a strong faith that she demonstrated in her daily life. She loved her family, friends and animals, especially her Mother, her nephews and her cat, Sammie. Her smile could light up a room and she had beautiful blue eyes and an infectious laugh. Sue will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg, MA 01420 Sue's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 13, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1200 John Fitch Hwy, Fitchburg, MA, 01420 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sue's name to: American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Greater Gardner Area “On Angels’ Wings” Team 43 Nagog Park, Suite 110 Acton, MA 01720 or Emanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund 1200 John Fitch Highway Fitchburg, MA 01420
