John S. Van Eman, 65

John  S. Van Eman, 65 of Fitchburg died peacefully and quietly on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 after a long illness.
John was born in Canonsburg, PA. son of Samuel L. and Dorothy (Sargent) Van Eman. 

John leaves his wife of 21 years, Mary Susan "Sue" Patton, his son John H. Van Eman of Pittsburgh, PA, his daughter and son-in-law Connie (Van Eman) Babin and Eric of Gardner, his two grandchildren Skylar Morlock and Jayden Babin, his former wife Debra White of Gardner, 2 nephews, 3 neices, many great nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends. John was predeceased by his brother Samuel Logan VanEman IV and his sister Mary Elizabeth Van Eman.

John was funny, handsome, loving and responsible.  He always said “God is in control”.  His work as an explosives engineer brought he and Sue to New England in 1988 where he continued his career as a master blaster. He retired early and became the house-husband and loved spending time with his grandkids, friends, and neighbors.  He enjoyed music, especially Elvis and classic rock, walking, his cats, and bird watching.  He never liked to be the center of attention or in the limelight.  He forgave everyone and gave big warm hugs and firm handshakes.  He was loved by many and will be deeply missed until we are together again. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Lung Association. 

Funeral services for John will be at Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St., Fitchburg on Sunday, July 31 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.
