Fred Oscar Niemi, born June 2, 1945 in Fitchburg, MA, died May 8 in Leominster Hospital surrounded by his family.

A graduate of Fitchburg High School, Fred was predeceased by his parents, Rita (nee Daigle) Niemi and Oscar Niemi, his brother John Niemi, and son Robert Alexander Beauregard, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Priscilla (nee Searles) of Greenville, NH, brother Anthony "Butch" and sister-in-law Nancy Niemi, sister Betty Jane and brother-in-law Gerry Tolman of Goffstown, NH, daughter Robin Lee and son-in-law Daniel Moran of Derry, NH, daughter Kelly L. Ballou of New Smyrna Beach, FL, daughter Priscilla A. Chamberlin of Derry, NH, son Jeffrey R. and daughter-in-law Renee Beauregard of Mont Vernon, NH, 14 grandchildren, three (and one on the way) great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

A talented craftsman, Fred worked most of his adult life as a machinist and was a former member of the Eastwood Club and Franco-American Club. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas. He was an unconditionally loving husband who enjoyed nothing more than being with and doting on his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was beloved by everyone who had the opportunity to spend time with him and wherever he went, laughter followed.

A celebration of Fred's life will be held Sunday, June 4 at American Legion John Humiston Post 11, Jaffrey, NH from noon to 4 p.m. Fred's family invites all to join in.
